Pioneering teachers and teacher trainers rewarded with eLearning Awards in Copenhagen
Schools from 9 countries were rewarded for excellent use of ICT in education at the eLearning Awards ceremony, held as part of the annual EMINENT conference in Copenhagen, Denmark. The winners and runners up were selected among 573 entries from schools in 39 countries in the EU and beyond, in this unique competition run by European Schoolnet.
The winning teachers were rewarded with a trip to Copenhagen for the award ceremony. There the teachers had the opportunity to meet leading policy makers from Europe’s Ministries of Education and key technology innovators from SMART, ACER, Microsoft, ENISA and Europeana who adopted the categories this year.

For the 10th eLearning Awards, European Schoolnet and ENISA, the European Network and Information Security Agency, announce a new category called "Teaching online safety and citizenship".
The rapid spread of internet use among young people is making it essential to address eSafety and ePrivacy, in order to protect young people from online risks and threats and to prepare them to use digital technologies in a secure and responsible way.

The purpose of the Danish E-learning Award (e-læringsprisen 2010) is to support the use of digital media in the world of education and provide innovative educators the opportunity to develop sustainable e-learning projects. The award is given for an e-learning activity consisting of either an e-learning material or an e-learning course.
Who can participate?
• Teachers or groups of teachers
• Educational institutions on behalf of a teacher or a group of teachers
The rights-holder of an e-learning activity must be Danish.
Europeana in Education: Re-use our digital cultural heritage for the eLearning Awards
Europeana and European Schoolnet are pleased to invite teachers to build learning resources based on Europe’s digital heritage, as part of this year’s eLearning Awards (http://elearningawards.eun.org).
Microsoft and European Schoolnet to reward outstanding teachers with eLearning Awards
European Schoolnet and Microsoft announced a new eLearning Award to reward outstanding teachers in Europe for their work with ICT in education. As part of their work with innovative teachers, Microsoft is supporting the eLearning Awards 2010 and invites all teachers to apply to the special category for outstanding teachers.
